AZ Combine Rules & Procedures

Med Ball Toss

  • 2 Attempts
  • Age 10 & Above Use 10 Pound Ball
  • Age 9 & Under Use 6 Pound Ball
  • Measure to Where Ball Lands
  • Start Behind the Line on Knees Athletes May Fall Past the Line After Ball is Released
  • No Twisting Torso or Shot Putting you Must Release Ball with Both Hands
  • No Raising Knees or Jumping from the Knelling Position
  • Feet Must Lay Flat No Pushing Off With Your Feet
  • No Rocking Back and Forth During Attempt
  • Tie Breaker Will Go to the Athlete Who Preformed the Best All Other Combine Events

Vertical Jump

  • 3 Attempts
  • No Stepping During the Jumping Process
  • Swinging Are For Upward Momentum is Allowed
  • Must Stand Tall and Fully Extend Both Arms When Determining Standing Reach
  • Do Not Karate Chop or Aggressively Swing at Vertical Stand Tabs Gently Tap Flags
  • Tie Breaker Will Go to the Athlete Who Preformed the Best in the Broad Jump

5-10-5 Shuttle

  • 2 Attempts
  • False Starts Will Not Account as an Attempt
  • Start by Straddling the Line in a 3-Point Stance
  • Explode Laterally Either Direction
  • Run 5 Yards Either to the Right or Left and Touch the Line With Your Hand
  • Reverse Direction and Sprint 10 Yards to the Far Line
  • Touch the Line and Sprint Back to the Middle Line
  • Must Touch Each Line to Count
  • Tie Breaker Will Go to the Athlete Who Preformed the Best in the 40-Yard Dash

Broad Jump

  • 2 Attempts
  • Repeat Fault
  • Use Wheel & Board for Accuracy
  • Must Land on Your Feet Cannot Fall Forward
  • Measure From Foot that is the Furthest Back
  • Tie Breaker Will Go to the Athlete Who Preformed the Best in the Vertical Jump

40-YARD Dash

  • 2 Attempts
  • False Starts Will Not Account as an Attempt
  • No False Stepping or Rocking During Start
  • Must Line up at the Gate No Starting Further Behind the Gate than Required
  • In the Event of a Tie the Averages of Both Attempts will Determine Winner
