Several returning top 10 champions and a mix of new talented athletes from across the state made for an incredible first combine of 2019. New comer and 14 year old Eli Jackson made an impressive showing at his first AZYFC combine experience. Eli was named combine MVP by nearly sweeping his age division with four medals in total; winning the broad jump, 40-yard dash, vertical jump and 5-10-5 shuttle! Eli’s hands were full with medals and a trophy while our NFL alumni christened a shiny new nickname, “4 Chainz!” Winning multiple medals must have been contagious as three other athletes were able to top multiple categories with impressive showings.

Below are the multi-medal winners in each division:

5-8 year old division- Tyce Sheets topped his age division in the broad jump and 40-yard dash. Tyce is now considered an AZYFC combine regular with a great personality and enthusiasm for football, we look forward to seeing him improve his times at future events.

9-11 year old division – As a first combine participant eleven year old Aliaz Dyson grabbed two medals in both strength and the 40-yard dash. Way to go Aliaz! Make sure to come back and defend your titles.

12-14 year old division – As mentioned above, Eli Jackson dominated this age group while thirteen year old Gregory Shaw secured the remaining medal in the strength competition.

15-17 year old division – Seventeen year old Treydevyante Hinchey out of El Mirage impressed NFL alumni, parents and other athletes by taking home two medals and topping his age division in the broad jump and vertical jump. Fifteen year old Carson Boyll impressed all in attendance with blazing speed as he broke the AZYFC combine 40-yard dash record! Carson also won a medal with the top 5-10-5 shuttle time in his division. Great job “Trey” and Carson!
